Shafter High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) competed in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies contest.

More than 50 Shafter High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) members traveled to Independence High School on November 14 to compete in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies contest.

The contest is held every year to introduce students to their first FFA competition, emphasize the purpose of meetings and duties of officers, teach them how to conduct efficient meetings, as well as build public speaking and communication skills.

Shafter had 9 teams compete in this public speaking contest, and had two high individuals and the 2nd place Open gold team. Members of the second place open gold team were Kekoa Witcher, Victoria Darling, Michael Vander Poel, Alexis Pickering, Carolina Ortega, and Julie Portillo. Nallely Hermosillo was the outstanding sentinel in the officer division and Eva Lopez was the outstanding treasurer of the Open Blue Division.

LCAP Public Forum All Call

LCAP Public Forum All Call
You are cordially invited to attend the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Forum at the Shafter High School Cafeteria on Tuesday, November 7 at 6pm. A light dinner will be served. In order to maximize student success, the Kern High School District seeks to consult parents in the development of LCAP. This public forum will provide an overview of the current LCAP and seek input on the goals, services, and expenditures in the LCAP.

Están cordialmente invitados a asistir al Foro de Control de Responsabilidad Local (LCAP) en la Secundaria de Shafter el martes, 7 de noviembre. Se servirá una cena ligera. Con el fin de maximizar el éxito de los estudiantes, el Distrito Escolar Kern busca consultar a los padres en el desarrollo de LCAP.
