The vision for this campaign is to educate students regarding digital citizenship concepts by weaving concepts into our subject-area classes. As educators, and parents we see firsthand each day the effects of social media on our youth from bullying to relationship detachment, we understand the urgency of this important initiative. There has never been a more important time to do this work in our schools. No matter our personal feelings about social media, these platforms are not going away anytime soon and can serve a positive purpose with our support. Colleges and employment agencies look at a person’s digital footprint.
